Just another day of training

[Rioneru]

Rioneru stood in the middle of the training room and activated the training simulator. He wondered which opponent the simulator would generate today. The simulator was always full of suprises, and Rioneru loved it. Hitting the "Mission Start" button on the simulator remote control, a voice began a countdown and the surroundings of the room began to change...

[Kaede]

"All right. I'm lost." mumbled a confused infantryman as he stared at the corridor before him. Kaede Hazel, a genetically modified being, had been sent to the SOLDIER floor in the Shinra building in search of a SOLDIER called Rioneru Leone. The young infantryman began to ask around for the SOLDIER and eventually he was guided to the [Training Room]. As he entered the room, he watched as a man, dressed in the standard SOLDIER uniform entered a simulator. The gates to the simulator began to shut and just in time, Kaede managed to slip into it before the gates shut with a loud bang.

Kaede turned around, relieve of his escape, spoke to the man before him. "Rioneru Leone, SOLDIER 1st Class?" he asked but before the man could reply, the scenery in the room began to change. From the simple empty room they were in, the scenes changed to that of the Slums in Sector 7. Suddenly, an [Evil Eye] appeared out of nowhere. Its eye glowed and beamed towards the two human. Almost instinctly, the muscles in Kaede's modified body tensed and instantaneously, his legs pushed himself off the ground, dodging the Evil Eye's attack almost completely. As he landed back on his feet, his hands reached towards his machine gun. Kaede groaned silently, wondering why he had such a useless weapon with him.

[Rioneru]

As he landed back on his feet, his hands reached towards his machine gun. Kaede groaned silently, wondering why he had such a useless weapon with him.

"That's a SOLDIER Infantryman standard issue weapon, it's not gonna do much good in real battles. Try this..." said Rioneru as he pressed a button on the simulator remote control, creating a broadsword in his hand. Rioneru tossed the sword at the infantryman. The infantryman caught it with one hand, and looked curiosly at the broadsword he was now holding. As Rioneru's eyes fixed onto the [Evil Eye], he said "Most people have the impression that guns work better than swords, but their wrong, melee weapons are much faster and better if used skillfully."

Rioneru drew the large Buster Sword he carried on his back. With one great leap, he slashed at the [Evil Eye]. The monster let out a loud sharp shriek as it was hit. However, that hit did not kill it yet. Rioneru landed on one knee on the ground with his back facing the monster.

"Your turn now..."
